AWS re/Start and Academy IT have teamed up to offer this tuition-free, in-person and online program in the heart of Adelaide. Through scenario-based learning, hands-on labs, and coursework, learners gain the skills they need for an entry-level cloud role.
You will learn cloud computing skills and prepare for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification with free access to practice and full exams.
In the program, you’ll also focus on professional skills such as adaptive communication, time management, resume building, and interviewing to prepare for employer meeting and interviews.
After you graduate, Academy IT will connect you with employers and help you move into your new working life.
A technology background is not required to apply and the program is focused on unemployed and underemployed individuals.

What will you study?
AWS re/Start curriculum is adapted to meet learners where they are in their learning journey, desired objectives, and learning modalities. Through scenario-based exercises, instructor-led sessions, learners build Linux, Python, networking, security, database, automation, and core AWS Cloud skills.
Learners receive job-specific training for roles such as technical support specialist, systems administrator, cloud automation lead, up to infrastructure engineer and more. AWS re/Start also provides learners with professional skills including effective communication, collaboration, resume writing, and interview coaching to prepare them for employer meetings and interviews.
You will also complete the nationally accredited ICTSS00109 Entry to Tech Skill Set.
Course Information
Students must be 18 years or over and eligible for Skills SA funding.

There are no prerequisites for this course, however, it is recommended that students have basic computer literacy and an interest in IT.
Applicants for this qualification without relevant formal qualifications or experience may be requested to undertake a pre-assessment of industry knowledge and skills prior to enrolment to ensure the required foundational knowledge is in place.
This course is subsidised by Skills SA. Eligibility for free training applies.
For RPL to be granted, the course applicant must provide quality evidence that s/he:
- Has attained the competencies described in the unit/s of competency that are being claimed
- Possesses current competency in the unit/s that are being claimed
- Possesses the required underpinning knowledge specified in the unit/s of competency
- Has applied the relevant competencies in a context that is applicable to their area of specialisation in resource and infrastructure.
The evidence, which has been gathered by the assessor or the candidate, as proof of current competency may take a variety of forms and could include certification, references from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.
The assessor must ensure that such evidence complies with the rules of evidence, namely that it is authentic, valid, reliable, current and sufficient.
AIT offers a simple but methodical RPL process which is outlined in its Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy.

Full-Time 12-week Completion
Our full-time classroom study option is Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm at our Adelaide CBD Training Centre, located at Level 4, 45 Grenfell Street, Adelaide SA 5000.
Online study modes are available and require students to attend the virtual classroom Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm.

Students who successfully complete this qualification may be able to pursue the following career outcomes. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification are:
Help Desk Support Worker, ICT Assistant, Client Support Officer, User Support Specialist, Computer Technician, and Service Desk Specialist.
